(Nashville, Tenn. August 8, 2019) Taylor, Pigue, Marchetti and Blair, PLLC (tpmbLAW) today named Charles Michels, J.D. as a partner of the firm, according to L. Gino Marchetti, Jr., managing member.
Michels joined tpmbLAW in 2012, the year he graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was an Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. Prior to graduating law school, Charles gained experience in the legal department at Nissan North America in Franklin, Tennessee, and worked with the General Counsel’s Office for the Tennessee Department of Health.
"Charles is one of the brightest attorneys I have ever had the pleasure of working with," said Marchetti. "He has been the lead attorney in multiple trials in which the disputed assets exceeded one-half-million dollars, delivered oral arguments before the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and drafted a memorandum for a client that led to a favorable Attorneys’ General Opinion. His legal mind, service focus and dedicated work ethic continue to strengthen our firm and our clients, and we are pleased to add him to our partner group."
Michels received the International Municipal Lawyers’ Association Fellows Designation in 2018, which recognizes legal specialists in the field of local government law as demonstrated through exam style testing and peer review. He is one of only 91 Designees since the Fellows’ Inception in 1999 and only the second Designee practicing in Tennessee.
Michels is a member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association, the Nashville Bar Association, and the Tennessee Bar Association. His areas of practice include: Municipal Law, Estate/Probate litigation, Insurance Defense, Insurance Coverage, Utility Law and Regulation, Employment Law, Government Law, Regulatory Law, Real Property Litigation, and General Civil Litigation. He is a 2009 graduate of the Illinois College, magna cum laude, where he double majored in Finance and Economics.
Founded in 1954, tpmbLAW PLLC engages in general civil practice including civil litigation, corporate and governmental representation and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights.
